At Kurasu's online shop and the cafes, we have variety of coffee equipment and almost all of them are actually used by our baristas at the cafes, and some of them even personally.
We get a lot of questions everyday from our customers about our recommendations and favorites- so we decided to ask our baristas to introduce their personal favorite one by one!
We interviewed Taichi, whose friendly and lively character and the love for coffee makes Kurasu Kyoto exciting- his personal favorite is Miyaco Single Drip, a Japanese tea pot-like cutie that holds 400ml, the perfect quick brewing kind of pot.

Q1. What makes Miyaco Single Drip special to you?
I LOVE this pot! I fell in love with it the moment I saw it- the design is exceptional. This makes your brewing style definitely unique.
The great thing about this pot is that it's not only visually pleasing but also very practical. The 7mm spout creates a super-thin stream that is easy to control, and its light weight makes brewing easy for everyone.
Q3. What kind of questions do you get from customers about Miyaco Single Drip, and how do you answer them?
Many people ask about the capacity- it holds 400ml and that's what I like about it. Heat up little water and pour it into this pot and it's all ready to brew 1 cup, simple as that.
I can't say it can be used for 2+ cups, and in that case I recommend you to choose 900-1200ml kettle that can be used on a heat source as well.
Q4. Last word to everyone interested in Miyaco Single Drip!
It's pretty, it's practical, and it's reasonably priced- kettles and pots for pour over usually cost 5,000 yen or more, but not this one. I highly recommend this to beginners as well as to people who are getting bored of mainstream, standard gears and wanting something different!
