Kurasu's coffee subscription plans are the perfect way for one to explore the Japanese coffee industry. We offer a variety of plans that suit your preferences. 

You can pause and resume your subscription or change your subscription plans if you wish. For more information see our FAQ below or contact our support team. 

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

For new subscribers, if you sign up after the 20th, your subscription will begin in next month. 

The payment date and the shipment date are different. The shipment date is around the 30th of every month. The details of the “Payment & shipment schedule” is below. 

If you purchase a subscription and other items at the same time, the subscription and your other purchases will be shipped separately.

Kurasu Roast Plan

Roaster team will carefully select two microlots each month to showcase various unique coffee. Roast level will be mostly light, however may include dark depending on the potential of the coffee beans.

There will be months where the coffee will be subscription exclusive. This means you won't be able to purchase in our online store. 

We seek to ensure maximum quality and value for each of our coffee to our members. All of our single origin will be roasted on Loring S35 Kestrel.

Pamphlet: includes bean information, recipe, and interview.

Partner Roaster + Kurasu Roast Plan

You’ll be able to enjoy coffee from different coffee roasters each month while also receiving our favorite microlots roasted by Kurasu in our roastery in Kyoto, Japan.

Partner Roaster Plan

Carefully curated, each month we’ll partner with a different specialty coffee roaster from all over Japan. It is the perfect opportunity to enjoy the flavors Japanese artisan roasters have to offer, while also learning and connecting with their amazing stories worldwide.

Coffee selection, roast type, varieties depends on the roaster as we want this subscription to be a sensory experience and a chance to connect with coffee roasters from around Japan.

Payment & Shipment Schedule

*This is an example of the ongoing order made in May.

On the 15th of every month, an automated payment will be made towards the subscription. 

In the last week of each month, we'll roast, pack, and prepare shipment. We try our best to ship packages out as soon as possible from the roasting date. 

Please allow up to 2-3 weeks until your coffee arrives at your doorstep, as international shipments vary widely depending on the destination.

Coffee Subscription Q&A

All coffee will be mainly filter coffee in mind, as that's the main way we coffee is brewed in Japan. For Kurasu roasts, we do test out all of our coffee through our espresso machine, so that everyone is able to enjoy.

We cut off payments on the 15th, (the 20th is the date for new subscribers to cut off), then place an order to the roasters around the 21st, and then they roast the beans for the subscription members, so we usually ship the freshly roasted beans around at the end of the month.

If you purchase a subscription and other items at the same time, shipping fees for non-subscription items are charged. Only the shipping fee for the subscription is included. This is why the shipping fees are displayed when you complete the order.

We carefully work with our partner couriers to ensure the most effective way to reaching to your destination. Tracking and insurance is included, just in case anything goes wrong, you'll get a full refund or credit to your next round, or send you another package depending on availability. 

Unfortunately, no. Since the fulfillment center and the packing process for our subscription packages and other items are separate, we cannot ship other items with the subscription package free of charge, while the shipping fee for the subscription is free. Any item ordered along with the coffee subscription will be shipped out as soon as possible, without the subscription package as it has its own schedule.

For example, if you place your order for subscription and brewing gear at the beginning of a month, you will receive brewing gear first, and you will receive the subscription package at the end of the month/beginning of next month.

The shipping cost is included in the price of your order. However, any applicable taxes or duties are not included. These charges are the customer’s responsibility and may be collected upon delivery by the customs authorities.

Yes, if you want to pause for the upcoming roaster, let us know as soon as possible and in advance. At the latest, please give us 2 business days before the charge date on the 15th. The account will restart from the next subscription, or whenever you'd prefer.

Please contact our customer support with your name and email address. To change your shipping address, kindly provide us with your new address, and please don’t forget to include the postal code.

Yes, you can change your plan. Please let us know as soon as possible and in advance. Ideally, please make any updates 2 days before the charge date on the 15th if you wish to change any details of your plan, address, etc. If you make changes after the charge, they will take effect from the next month onwards. You can also update some of your personal information from your customer portal. Please note that once the subscription has been charged, we are unable to make any changes for that month.

You can update your card details on your account page. If you are unsure if the change has been made, please contact customer support.

Yes, you can deactivate the plan and get a refund within 1 hour. If you can't manage your account, please reach out to us.

After the package is prepared by Kurasu and handed over to the shipping company, it may take 3 - 4 days for the tracking to become active. If the tracking status has not been updated for more than 5 days, please contact us.
