Astrid

At Buena Vista Farm, meticulous care is taken to produce washed coffee of the highest caliber. Here, only the ripest cherries are handpicked and sorted on selection tables, ensuring that only the finest beans are chosen. These beans are then rested in their cherry state for 24 hours before undergoing a process of pulping and an additional 24-hour dry fermentation in tanks.

Following this, the beans are washed three times and float-sorted. The final step involves drying the beans on elevated racks for 15 to 20 days, with the duration varying according to weather conditions.

Astrid, along with her husband Raul, take pride in their sustainable business model that not only provides for their livelihood but also ensures fair wages for their workers. They have even constructed a cable car system to transport cherries from the highest points of the farm to the wet mill. This commitment to excellence and sustainability was recognized when Astrid won the Cup of Excellence in 2016.
