Roaster's Comment
For Aki Urara 2026, we blended three coffees from Colombia, Costa Rica, and Indonesia.
As the intense heat of summer gives way to cooler days, this is the season when we find ourselves craving a sweet, comforting cup of coffee.
The three coffees we selected all share a full-bodied sweetness and a deep, lingering finish, while each brings a different expression of acidity and flavor. With these qualities in common, we blended them in fairly even proportions—40% Colombia, 30% Costa Rica, and 30% Indonesia—to create a balanced cup while adding complexity to its acidity and flavor.
At its core is a rich, caramel-like sweetness, with notes of apricot and apple coming through, followed by a fruitiness reminiscent of Delaware grapes as the coffee cools. The finish lingers with a depth that reminds us of green tea. One of the joys of a blend is how the balance of flavors can shift subtly each time you brew it.
Autumn seems to get shorter every year. Before you know it, winter will be here—so enjoy it while it lasts.
