Letter from Kurasu Cafe Manager

How’s everyone doing?

It’s Ayaka, cafe manager of Kurasu Kyoto.

I am happy to receive all the messages you guys give me from my last newsletter.

It makes me feeling connected with everyone through my words.

I really appreciate that!

Japan's prime minister, Shinzō Abe, has lifted the country's state of emergency recently. I would like to share the changes after the announcement.

Most of the cafes and restaurants is back to normal business, people have slowly get back to their usual routine. It’s getting lively again in Kyoto.

It is nice to be able to meet friends again, but at the same time, the situation isn’t completely gone. Wearing mask outside become an etiquette.

After the lifted of Japan’s state of emergency, instead of getting back you usual operation right away, Kurasu decided to keep in take out style.

Until recent, customers are able to drink in the cafe for a limit time. No matter how the operation style change, safety is always the first thing that we consider. We care about all our staffs and customers.

I’m so glad to see the smiley faces in our cafe again.

I feel half happy half sad whenever our customer says, “ I bought coffee beans from kurasu online store because I wasn’t able to visit the cafe”, or “ I’m sad that my beans I got before the state of emergency is running out soon”.

Then I realize that I wants to keep serving our coffee.

There are still some countries suffering from the virus. It is tough but we have to stay strong and positive.

Please be safe, and we are looking forward to see you again.

Ayaka
