Light, easy, and just the right size
“We wanted to create a cotton bag that feels casually thoughtful—something you might find at a museum gift shops.”
That idea was the starting point for this tote bag.
What Kurasu set out to make was a lightweight, soft tote that naturally fits into everyday life—one you’ll find yourself reaching for again and again.
From fabric selection to overall proportions, every detail was carefully considered. The result is a bag that comfortably holds your favorite tumbler, a book, or coffee tools, and feels effortless to carry whenever you head out the door.
Thoughtful details that reflect Kurasu’s character
Playfulness and attention to detail are woven throughout, staying true to what makes Kurasu, Kurasu.
The defining feature of this tote is its silk-screen print. From a distance, the design appears as a soft gradient; up close, you’ll notice the finely layered dots that reveal the precision of skilled craftsmanship. The result is a print with subtle depth and texture.
A bold all-over print gives the bag its presence, while the small Kurasu tag discreetly sewn into the side adds a quiet accent. You can choose from two designs:
“Kyoto Stand”, in a vivid blue inspired by coffee filters
“Ebisugawa”, in a warm salmon pink featuring Kurasu’s original mugs.
Kurasu’s vision realized through craftsmanship rooted in Japan
The sewing was entrusted to Fukui Sen’i, a workshop based in Maizuru, Kyoto, known for creating garments meant to be loved and worn for years. They worked closely with us, carefully translating our ideas into form.
Printing was handled by Yamar-da, also based in Kyoto. Using inks mixed by experienced artisans, they brought the delicate details of the design to life with great care and precision.
