Cerafilter is a creation of Arita earthware with more than 400 years of experience. The porous ceramic used is even now widely used as industrial products such as water filters, air purifiers, even filters for car mufflers. The ingredients are mixed and wetted with water from the natural well in Arita, and soil is molded which requires detailed modification by human hands. The product is then baked in the kiln for tens of hours, twice as long as usual which provides strength to the finished product.
I got the Cerafilter as a gift to someone who uses paper filters and traditional filter device. He hasn’t ever seen such a ceramic filter so the was pleasantly surprised. He confirmed that it is quick, practical and eco friendly to use Cerafilter.
Easy to clean and perfect for filter coffee.
No more paper filters. Plus it makes smooth tasting coffee. Everyone in the household has enjoyed the filter for the past month. It looks pretty on the counter and is easy to clean.
I am very pleased with this cara filter #2.
1. no grounds in coffee
2. Does not impart any taste of its own
3. Reusable, no disposable filter to buy
4. Does not clog. Easy to clean
5. Makes about 6 oz of coffee 200 g
One enhancement would be to reduce the diameter of the porcelain ring to allow it to sit on top of smaller mugs.
I use the wooden donut hole ring from another pour over productwhich fits. If you are using a larger mug it is not an issue.
Excellent filter, beautiful design, practical, ecological... In short, perfect.
I loved my taster set. It was excellent. I am definitely going to order again.
Perfect for espresso machine!
Very suitable for the morning coffee. A bit fruity but it’s well balanced.
After finishing my brew, I used to use my drinking mug as the vessel to carry the "dirty" dripper to the kitchen sink immediately, empty the mug, and came back to my coffee. W/ the drip tray, i no longer need to make that extra detour. Once I finished brewing, i just needed to place the "dirty" dripper to the tray next to my scale. Save so much time. It's one of those "mundane" accessory that has so much impact on your workflow.
- Decided to buy this dripper from Kurasu even though it's available in my country as it's pricey here.
- Recommended to get the M size like I did so that you have the flexibility to brew wider range of grams.
- Even though the origami is ubiquitous, it's one of those designs that you just have on your dripper collection.
