Wear Your Love
Designed by Kurasu, made locally in Kyoto — an original cap that carries the spirit of specialty coffee, community, and craftsmanship.
Something to share, to gift, to remember.
Wearing the Spirit of a Life With Coffee
Introducing a new addition to Kurasu’s original lineup — the Kurasu Original Cap.
From T-shirts and tumblers to tenugui, we’ve always aimed to create items that bring the warmth of “a life with coffee” into daily moments.
Among them, our embroidered caps carrying the message “We serve specialty coffee from Kyoto” have become beloved items — both as souvenirs and as pieces that our customers and many of our staff members wear every day.
For some, our previous cap was a bit too sporty and had a slightly outdoorsy look.
This time, we wanted to strike a perfect balance — not too casual, not too fashion-forward, but something beautifully in between that matches the moods of so many more.
Whether you’re going out for a jog, or cycling to work with a flask of coffee, we wanted to create something that adds just a little touch of Kurasu to your everyday life, and that’s how we kick-started this project.
A Cap That Feels Like “Kurasu”
We couldn’t find any ready-made cap that truly matched the ideal shape, texture, and feel we had in mind- so, our original product team decided to start completely from scratch.
Everyone brought their favorite caps to the table, trying them on and discussing what makes a shape universally flattering yet unique.
Balancing “a design that suits anyone” with “a design that’s one of a kind” — after countless small adjustments, we finally arrived at this form.
Crafted Together in Japan
Ikegami Boushi Koubou × Kawashima × Kurasu
The production was entrusted to Ikegami Boushi Koubou, a Kyoto-based hat manufacturer.
From the outside, the workshop looks like a quiet home — but inside, you’ll find large cutting machines, rows of sewing machines, and skilled artisans at work.
Their flexible yet robust production system immediately impressed us.
As fellow Kyoto makers, we knew that collaborating with them would allow us to express the essence of “Kurasu craftsmanship.”
For the embroidery, we partnered with Kawashima, in Nagoya.
We first came across their work on social media and were captivated by their beautiful finish and honest approach to craft.
Their dedication to embroidery naturally resonated with our own philosophy.
Design and Material — Subtle but Distinct
The cap’s design differs slightly from a typical baseball cap — a thoughtful combination of outdoor and fashion sensibilities, with playful panel transitions.
It’s made from breathable, waterproof nylon taffeta (100%), a material that feels light and soft the moment you put it on.
Quick-drying and comfortable, it’s perfect for everyday wear, cycling, or even a light run.
Every detail matters — all parts are made in Japan, down to the smallest metal clasp.
As for color, we intentionally moved away from black.
Reflecting Kurasu’s current mood, we chose a calm, elegant shade of gray — close enough to our brand tone, yet easy to pair with any outfit.
Adding a Touch of Kurasu to Everyday Life
This cap joins our lineup of daily essentials — alongside our T-shirts, totes, and tumblers — items that extend the Kurasu experience beyond the café.
For commuting, cycling, or strolling through the city with a coffee in hand, this cap blends effortlessly into everyday moments — light, soft, and easy to wear.
It’s a piece that can remind you of the time you spent in Kyoto, or a souvenir that carries the little something made in Kyoto, along with your adventures to tell.
