In November, Kurasu visited :ENDELEA COFFEE, our subscription roasting partner based in Yatsushiro, Kumamoto.
The YouTube video we’ve released isn’t a traditional sit-down interview. Instead, the conversation unfolds as we walk through the town, move between spaces, and let the pace of the place guide the dialogue.
Yatsushiro, Kumamoto.
It isn’t a well-known tourist destination.
But it’s a town with a steady rhythm and a quiet sense of continuity.
Here, a roaster who once worked in a factory chose a different path, slowly building his own form of expression through coffee. Not in a straight line, but through years of detours and experience.
The dimness of the shop.
Conversations about music.
A clear but flexible approach to roasting.
Light roast or dark roast.
Rather than deciding what’s “correct,” the focus is on how coffee can be enjoyed, and how each choice reflects intention rather than rules.
This video isn’t only about how coffee is made. It quietly captures why it’s made that way, without over-explaining or forcing conclusions.
When Kurasu chooses partners, we look beyond flavor or technique alone. We care about the time someone has spent, the path they’ve taken, and the stance they hold toward coffee and craft.
Walking through Yatsushiro and sharing these conversations was a reminder of why those details matter.
The release comes a little later than planned, but it’s a video meant to be watched slowly.
Coffee Subscription
Like ENDELEA COFFEE, Kurasu works with roasters who bring their own perspective, background, and values into what they do.
Through our coffee subscription, we share coffees from our roasting partners alongside seasonal selections, allowing you to experience not just different flavors, but the stories and intentions behind them.
