What is the shipping cost?

For our global customers - shipping will depend on the weight of the items. You can find the shipping costs using our shipping calculator after you place items in your cartor at the checkout page. Here's the rate schedule.

For our Japanese domestic customers - shipping is 800 yen or free if you purchase over 15,000 yen.

    Are tracking and insurance available? 

    Tracking for all shipments is included for your peace of mind.

    Insurance up to $100 and tracking is included. For insurance requiring more than $100, optional insurance can be purchase

      How long will shipping take?

      We've partnered with Japan Post which provides one of the world most reliable and cheapest logistics systems in the world.

      • All shipments occur from our logistics center in Osaka, Japan
      • 3-5 business days to process package (depending on availability)
      • EMS takes around a week and Economy takes 1-3 weeks to be shipped to major cities around the world
      • For our default EMS, 1 week for major cities in US, Europe, Asia, and Australia

        Do you ship to my country?

        Yep! As long as you're not in the very few restricted country list for Japan Post, we're more than happy to ship to your location. Here's a visual map of the cities we've shipped to:

         

        Are there any additional costs?

        Any custom duties which may occur in the respective country will be your responsibility. This is particularly the case for UK / EU / South American with strict custom rules. If you reject package due to this, we will refund the product minus shipping costs.

          Can I return my item?

          You're free to return the item given it is in the original condition, and we'll give you a 100% refund on the item. Shipping the item back to us and the cost will be your responsibility. If you reject the item at the destination, we will refund the value minus shipping costs.

            What if the product is damaged?

            Rest assured, we'll do everything we can if a product had been damaged while in transit. Contact us immediately with photo proof of the damage, we'll give you a immediate refund or post a replacement of the product. In case of faulty item, shipping costs will be on us.

              Why do you need my phone number?

              Its a requirement by Japan post for shipping overseas. We will never directly call you and any of your information, including your phone number will never be shared to a third party.

              We have a network of suppliers throughout Japan and chances are we can source what you are looking for.

              I'm comparing prices to my local retailer. Why are your prices so much cheaper?

              Because we source directly from suppliers in Japan and provide you with the prices found in Japan. The only additional cost to you is shipping cost to your destination.

              Can I change my order?

              Yes, if you contact us as soon as possible, we will try to get the product you want and need! We ship everything as soon as we can (around two business days) after the confirmed order, so be sure to contact us promptly.

              Do you do wholesale?

              Do you have a physical store?

              We have a specialty coffee shop in the heart of Kyoto, 5 min walk from Kyoto Station. We stock a limited selection of coffee products as well.

              COFFEE SUBSCRIPTION 

              What is the shipment schedule?

              On the 15th of every month an automated payment will be made towards the subscription for the next batch of roaster.

              Give us and our partner roaster till the end of the month to roast, pack, and prepare shipment for the coffee bean. We try our best to ship packages out two business days after the roasting date. 

              You will receive an tracking e-mail sometime during the last week of each month.

              Expect your coffee to arrive at your doorstep the beginning of the following month. Sit tight, as international shipments vary widely on country from 3 business days to 2 weeks.

              What kind of coffee is selected? Dark roast or light roast?

              Coffee types depend on the specialty of the roaster. Beans will be roasted for filter as that is the most common way of extraction in the Japanese coffee scene.

              Do you have decaffeinated coffee?

              We are sorry but we do not offer decaffeinated coffee.

              Can I change my plan from 200g to 400g, or vice versa?

              Yes, you can change your plan anytime as you wish, just give us a shout through e-mail.

              How do I change my mailing address?

               Please e-mail us with your new information and we'll change it right away.

              Can I pause my subscription account for the next roaster?

              Yes, if you want to pause for the upcoming roaster, let us know as soon as possible and 2 days before the cut off date (shown on the coffee subscription page). You can pause, cancel, or resume the plans just by sending us a e-mail at hello@kurasu.kyoto and we'll take care of the rest! 

              Can you combine the coffee shipment with my other order?

              We are really sorry but unfortunately we can't combine our coffee subscription package with our products. We ship the coffee out in bulk using a different shipping method that allows us to ship at a affordable cost for us.Thank you for your understanding! For the beans you purchase on our online shop will be send together with other purchases.
