Kalita Wave Iced Coffee Recipe

Our Kalita Wave iced coffee recipe, developed by our barista Runatsu:
“This recipe is designed to be simple and easy, while creating a rich, smooth, and round coffee that brings out the unique flavors of the beans.”
This recipe works with any Kalita Wave dripper, so feel free to use whichever version you have!
What You Need:
- Coffee of your choice
- Grinder
- Kettle
- Kalita Wave Dripper (Any Version)
- Kalita Wave Filter
- Coffee Scale
- Coffee Server
Recipe:
- Coffee: 16g
- Grind Size: Medium-Coarse (FELLOW Ode #8.2)
- Water: 150g at 90°C
- Ice: 140g
Steps:
- Prepare your kettle at 90°C.
- Weigh and grind your coffee:
- Measure out 16g of your favorite coffee (we recommend light-roast single origin).
- Grind to a medium-coarse setting (FELLOW Ode #8.2).
- Set up your Kalita Wave:
- Rinse the paper filter with hot water and discard the rinse water.
- Add all 16g of ground coffee.
- Pouring Instructions:
- Use a slow, consistent circular pour around the center of the dripper (avoid a spiral pour).
- 0:00 – 1st Pour: Pour 50g of water and wait 30 seconds.
- 0:30 – 2nd Pour: Pour another 50g of water and wait until 1:00 minute has passed.
- 1:00 – 3rd Pour: Add the final 50g of water and wait for the coffee to drip through completely.
Total Brew Time: 1:37 ~ 1:40
- Add ice to your glass:
- Add 140g of ice to your favorite glass.
- Pour the hot brewed coffee directly over the ice and stir until cold.
