Origami Dripper Iced Coffee Recipe

Our iced coffee recipe for the Origami dripper, developed by our barista Mishima.

“This recipe leverages the flexibility of the Origami dripper. You can use either a cone-shaped filter or a Kalita Wave filter, depending on whether you're brewing a coffee blend or a single-origin coffee.”

Notes: For a very fruity light roast coffee, it's better to add ice to the server before brewing.

What You Need:  

- Coffee of your choice  

- Grinder  

- Kettle  

- Origami Dripper  

- Cone-shaped filter or Kalita Wave filter  

- Coffee Scale  

- Coffee Server  

- For blends, use a cone-shaped filter to create a fuller body.  

- For single origins, use a Kalita Wave filter to bring out bright acidity.

Recipe:  

- Coffee: 13g  

- Grind Size: Medium (FELLOW Ode #6.1)  

- Water: 140g at 91°C  

- Ice: 150g  

Total Brew Time: 1:45 ~ 2:00

Steps:

  1. Prepare your kettle at 91°C.
  2. Weigh and grind your coffee:  

   - Measure out 13g of your favorite coffee. 

- Grind to a medium setting (FELLOW Ode #6.1).

  1. Set up your Origami Dripper:  

   - Choose your paper filter (cone-shaped for blends, Kalita Wave for single origins).  

   - Rinse the paper filter with hot water and discard the rinse water.  

   - Add all 13g of ground coffee.

  1. Pouring Instructions:  

   - Use a spiral pour beginning in the center moving outward

   - 0:00 – 1st Pour: Within 10 seconds, pour 40g of water.  

   - 0:40 – 2nd Pour: Within 10 seconds, pour an additional 50g of water.  

   - 1:20 – 3rd Pour: Add the final 50g of water and wait for the coffee to drip through completely.  

   Total Brew Time: 1:45 ~ 2:00

  1. Add ice to the server:  

   - Add 150g of ice (or as much as you prefer) to the coffee in the server.

  1. Stir well until the coffee has cooled completely.
